After a long period of rumours, Facebook finally confirmed on the 18th of June 2019 that they’ll be launching a global cryptocurrency named Libra which will be stored in a wallet called Calibra. The main feature for Libra is to save, send and spend. Also making transactions a lot easier, not only between friends but also in business, globally.

With the rise of Facebook as a key player in retail they’re constantly handling more payments than ever. Think about the ability to purchase direct through Facebook and Instagram, a feature that’s already rolled out in some parts of the world, or messenger games with tons of add-ons. You name it, they have it.

Libra is built on a secure and reliable blockchain network to grant worldwide access to equal financial service. The coin is also backed up by a reserve of assets, which means that it’s a more stable coin than other cryptocurrencies.

With their 24/7 support, low transaction fees, high levels of security and being compatible with all their apps, they’re planning to launch Libra in the beginning of 2020.
